Group Film "Shelter" - Shot 16; 2D Process

This scene is one of the shots in a group film I was part of in my final semester at University of Central Florida, titled "Shelter." We were tasked with created a 3-5 minute film within a team of 10 people. My roles on the project consisted of 2D animation processes, made up of in-between animation, cleanup, line art, coloring, and compositing of the character in After Effects. The 3D backgrounds and 2D keyframes were done by other members of my team.
In this scene, the keyframes I received to in-between were somewhat limited. As such, much of the leg movements and almost all of the tail movements are rough animation done by me.
Time spent: approx. 22 hours

This was the final version of the shot before it was sent to my director for minor editing for the final cut. All the lighting on the 2D character was done by me in Adobe After Effects. The 3D backgrounds were done by other members of my team.

This was the work-in-progress for the in-between phase of the film. The keyframes for the character, designated by the clean lineart, were done by another member of my team.

This was the work-in-progress for the line art phase of the film.

This was the work-in-progress for the coloring phase of the film. The lighting hadn't been done yet, but the shading was complete. They were on separate layers for ease of editing in Adobe After Effects.
