Group Film "Shelter" - Shot 40; 2D Process

This scene is the final shot in a group film I was part of in my final semester at University of Central Florida, titled "Shelter." We were tasked with created a 3-5 minute film within a team of 10 people. My roles on the project consisted of 2D animation processes, made up of in-between animation, cleanup, line art, coloring, and compositing of the character in After Effects. The 3D backgrounds and 2D keyframes were done by other members of my team.
Time spent: approx. 20 hours

This was the final product before it was then edited by the director for slight positioning problems.

This was the work-in-progress for the in-between phase. All of the blue fluff at the end of the character's tail was animating by me. All keyframes were done by my teammate, identified by the clean line art.

This was the work-in-progress for the line art phase. Color was added to the rocks by my teammate on the 3D team so that I could properly understand where the creature was disappearing behind the rocks.

This was the work-in-progress for the flat colors.

This was the work-in-progress for the lighting and shading. Lighting and shading for the character went on two separate layers so that when the character was brought into Adobe After Effects for compositing, the layers could be edited separately.
